“12 years ago Andrea was just a young student entering into my senior painting class. But there was something about her I noticed that are different from the others, full of enthusiasm she told me that she wants to do a large close to life size figure painting for the class project. I was impressed by her self confidence to tackle such an ambitious feat. She chose her classmate as the subject and we shot some of the photo references in my studio. Driven by her passion for painting and natural talent Andrea came into class weeks later with her painting in progress that took all the breath out of my classroom. That was the moment that I knew she is special. Now 12 years later Andrea’s paintings shown her maturity and growth as an artist, her high level of craftsmanship and her abilities to capture not just the likeness of the subject but the emotional content of her subject that made her paintings fascinating to look at.”
